Privacy Policy

WhoGetsMe is a free, browser-based quiz game that lets you create a short personal quiz and share it with friends. You choose a nickname, select questions about yourself, and invite others to answer them. The application then scores and displays the results.

We designed the service with a minimal data footprint. We do not require email addresses, passwords, phone numbers, or real names. We do not embed analytics trackers. Payments for premium subscriptions are processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card numbers or payment credentials directly.

This Privacy Policy explains what data WhoGetsMe collects, why, how it is stored, and what rights you have over it. It covers the website whogetsme.com and any future mobile applications built on the same backend.

WhoGetsMe collects only the minimum data necessary to operate the quiz game. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any government-issued identifiers.

Quiz Creator Data

• A display nickname (chosen freely; no real name required)
• An avatar selection (emoji/icon chosen from a predefined list)
• A question category selection
• Selected question IDs from the pre-written library, or custom question text (up to 120 characters per question)
• Correct answer selections (stored in a separate, access-controlled Firestore collection)
• A randomly generated quiz ID (e.g. WGM-123456)
• A Firebase anonymous UID tied to the creator's browser session

Quiz Participant Data

• A display nickname (chosen freely)
• Selected answers to each quiz question (stored as option indices)
• A calculated score and percentage
• A submission timestamp

Data We Do Not Collect

• Email addresses
• Passwords (anonymous auth only; email/password optional for account saving)
• Phone numbers
• Real names or government IDs
• IP addresses (not stored by the application; may be logged briefly by Google Cloud infrastructure)
• Device fingerprints or cross-site tracking identifiers

• To operate the quiz: storing your quiz so participants can access it via code, scoring participant answers, displaying results on the leaderboard.
• To preserve your session: the anonymous UID allows you to return to your quiz creator dashboard in the same browser without re-creating your quiz.
• To prevent duplicate submissions: a submission key stored in local storage prevents the same participant from submitting twice.
• To enforce usage quotas: the anonymous UID is used to count how many quizzes you have created under the free tier limits.

We do not use your data for advertising profiling, cross-site tracking, or any purpose other than operating the quiz service described above.

Firebase Services Used

• Firebase Authentication — provides anonymous sign-in (no email or password involved)
• Cloud Firestore — stores quiz data, answer keys, results, and user quota records

Google Firebase's data processing is governed by the Google Cloud Data Processing Addendum, which incorporates Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for international data transfers from the EU. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy and Firebase Privacy and Security documentation.

WhoGetsMe stores data in your browser's Local Storage to preserve your quiz state between page refreshes. This data is stored entirely on your device and is not transmitted to our servers except as part of the normal Firestore sync.

You can delete all WhoGetsMe Local Storage data at any time by clearing your browser's site data: Settings → Privacy & Security → Clear Browsing Data → Cookies and Site Data → Clear for the whogetsme.com domain.

Regardless of your location, you have certain rights over the data associated with your use of WhoGetsMe.

Right to Delete Your Result (Self-Service)

As a quiz participant, you can delete your own result directly from the result screen. Tap or click the delete button on your result, confirm the action, and your result document will be permanently removed from Firebase Cloud Firestore immediately.

Right to Delete Your Local Data

You can delete all local data at any time by clearing your browser's site data as described in Section 5.

Right to Request Deletion of Your Quiz Data

If you are a quiz creator and wish to have your quiz and all associated results permanently deleted, please contact us at ahmet.sinka5555@gmail.com. Include the quiz code (e.g. WGM-XXXXXX) in your message. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

If you are located in the European Union or the European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to the processing of your personal data.

Legal Basis for Processing

We rely on legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) as the legal basis for processing personal data collected through WhoGetsMe. Our legitimate interest is providing a functional, secure quiz game.

• Right to rectification (Art. 16) — request correction of inaccurate data
• Right to erasure (Art. 17) — request deletion of your data
